UX Case Study:
Little Lemon Restaurant

Little Lemon Restaurant

Little Lemon Restaurant is the culmination of my journey through the Principles of UX/UI Design course offered by Meta. Throughout this immersive learning experience, I gained valuable insights into the intricacies of UX research, equipping me with the necessary skills to undertake the comprehensive design process.

The Problem

Little Lemon Restaurant faces a deficiency in its user experience; the absence of an online table reservation feature. Our identified user persona is actively seeking a booking system that seamlessly integrates with the mobile website, ensuring not only user-friendliness but also the convenience of easy modifications. The lack of an online reservation function not only impedes user satisfaction but also presents an opportunity to elevate the overall user experience by incorporating a resilient, user-centric, and adaptable booking system. In addition, the editing capability should be accessible post-booking, offering users a reasonable window in advance.

User Persona:

Their Needs and Problems

Our Persona is a dynamic and socially engaged young professional! Juggling a hectic schedule while actively maintaining a vibrant social life, she seamlessly navigates the demands of her career. A true connoisseur of meaningful connections, she places great value on the ritual of sharing dinners with friends, considering it a cornerstone of her social well-being.

In her fast-paced world, convenience is key, and her go-to restaurant is none other than Little Lemon. This charming eatery has become a familiar backdrop to her life, not only for its delectable offerings but also for the convenience it brings to her doorstep through numerous deliveries.

Customer Journey Map

The Solution

    • Develop and integrate a user-friendly online reservation system directly into the mobile website of Little Lemon.

    • Ensure a seamless and intuitive interface that allows users to easily browse available time slots and make reservations with just a few clicks.

    • Implement a real-time availability update feature to provide accurate information to users, reducing the chances of inconvenience due to overbooking or unavailable time slots.

    • Enable users to make post-booking modifications within a reasonable timeframe. This feature allows flexibility for users to adjust reservation details such as group size, ensuring their preferences can be accommodated even after the initial booking.

Wireframes

After refining the wireframes, I proceeded to craft the visual design. The chosen colors, images, and icons seamlessly align with the app's existing visual aesthetic. Additionally, the reservation system was meticulously designed for user-friendliness, offering flexibility with the ability to edit and make changes even after booking.

Visual Design

Prototype

Behold the outcome of our prototype endeavor! Notably, we've seamlessly integrated a table reservation feature into the mobile website. Furthermore, users can now effortlessly modify reservation details, such as altering the date or adjusting the number of guests, with the intuitive edit button. The aesthetics have been meticulously fine-tuned to align harmoniously with the overall app design.

Results

The integration of a table reservation option on the Little Lemon Restaurant's mobile website, along with the capability to effortlessly modify reservation details, signifies a significant achievement to improve the user experience. The aesthetic alignment with the overall app design ensures a unified and visually pleasing user interface.

Moreover, this case study has culminated in the successful completion of the Meta UX/UI Design Principles Course, granting me the final certification. This achievement not only underscores the proficiency gained in applying UX design principles throughout the project but also adds an extra layer of validation to the endeavor, confirming its alignment with industry standards and best practices.

Throughout the development of this case study, I solidified my foundational understanding of UX, providing me with a gateway to the expansive world of user experience. This journey has not only fortified my skills but has also opened new horizons, allowing me to navigate the intricacies of UX with confidence and insight.
